Hello! My name is Becky, and I am a Recovering Fat Chick!
Like most women, I have struggled with my weight and body image for as long as I can remember. Even after losing more than 100 pounds and keeping it off, there is still a little fat girl in my head reminding me of what I once was; morbidly obese and extremely unhappy.
Although today I am a strong, confident women and very proud of my imperfect body, I will never forget the hopelessness and buckets of tears I must have cried. Instead of dwelling on the past, I decided to create a website and blog dedicated to real life stories about weight loss struggles and naturally healthy living. If I can help just one little girl dry her tears and become a Recovering Fat Chick-let, it will definitely be worth it!
The Recovering Fat Chick Blog (The RFC’s Blog)
Memoirs of a Recovering Fat Chick is intended to provide healthy weight loss advice, suggestions for active lifestyles, and various articles about holistic remedies and natural beauty. The blog will allow RFC’s in all stages of recovery to find a place where they can share their own stories and seek advice or inspiration. Ideally, the RFC Blog will allow readers to become interactive participants who can freely share encouraging words and guidance among a growing group of Recovering Fat Chicks.
Lifelong Dieting Leads to Lifelong Lessons
After enduring plenty of my own trials and tribulations as well as some triumphs and victories, I have definitely learned a few things along the way. For instance, losing weight can be one of the hardest things you will ever do, but the day your skinny jeans button AND zip feels so damn good that you realize it’s completely worth it.
When it comes to dieting, forget about all the books you have read and all the latest fads that your best friend’s second cousin once removed swears helped her loose 20 pounds. They simply do not work because diets are fleeting and weight loss should be forever. The best thing I ever did for myself was to learn as much as I could about Super Foods and how to use them to create great tasting, healthy dishes that satisfy even my decadent cravings. Check out my own healthy recipes here.
However, that isn’t nearly as important as having a strong support system of friends and family, or even an online blogging community, that can make the most difficult of obstacles significantly less daunting. We are only human after all and a little encouragement or validation can go a long way.
If you are interested in joining the RFC community, please contact Becky about being about becoming a member or contributor.

I’m not sure why but this website is loading very slow for me. Is anyone else having this issue or is it a issue on my end? I’ll check back later and see if the problem still exists.
I hope I have fixed the bugs and everything is loading fast enough now. Let me know!
